Career  

His first movie as a director was "Andaz" in 1971. The film starred big actors of that time like Shammi Kapoor, Rajesh Khanna, and Hema Malini. This movie became very successful at the box office. Then, in 1972, he directed "Seeta Aur Geeta," in which Hema Malini played two different roles. This movie was also a big hit and helped Hema Malini become a top actress.
